Average number of properties on their books in your postcode area.
The more properties an agent has in your area, the more likely they are to know the area well.
Number of branches they have
Agents that belong to large groups can sometimes offer more services and often have good resources to draw on should complications arise.
Number of staff
Again, if an agent has many staff they can usually offer more, from making sure no calls go unanswered right to specialist expertise.
Professional Memberships
It is important that agents belong to at least one professional organisation. For instance membership of the OEA (Ombudsman of Estate Agents) is now compulsory. Other important organisations include the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) and the RICS (Royal Society of Chartered Surveyors).
Average fee
We allow our agents to show their average fee. This is not neccessarly the fee that you will pay, but it will give you some guidance on the price of selling your home.

How do we choose our agents?
We invite all estate agents to use our service, but we do not accept all agents. Agents who advertise with BetterAgents have been interviewed and each one must meet strict criteria before their advertisements are shown.
Did you know, our agents also choose you?
Estate agents who use us can choose who they show their advert to. For instance, an agent can choose to show their advert only to people who live in the SW19 postcode area with a property worth between £200,000 and £250,000. This means that only agents who believe they have a good chance of selling a property matching yours will appear in the search results.
